Remember the final scene in "Return of the Jedi," when Luke gazes into a fire to see Obi-Wan, Yoda and Vader, smiling in the flames? I found myself hoping it was Jedi Hell, for the amount of pain those three unleashed on their galaxy, and for all the damned lies they told.
I enjoyed this article on mythos versus true science fiction. Only quibble is the drift into Godwin's territory (though the intent is not to stifle disagreement, so he gets a pass). Otherwise an agreeable analysis. (Why is everything I post these days likely to stoke Ralphie? He must be my mandate.)

Who? William Godwin, the theoretical anarchist and father of Mary Shelley?
Godwin's Law
Again, it's not a real violation; just an unnecessary example.
I would have preferred that my old Fourth International Trotskyist acquaintance in Austin had been credited with the observation; he put it "it's just not an argument until somebody gets compared to Hitler".
Wait - this is Wikipedia we're talking about. I could just change it. Then someone else could add mention of how pretty Hitler's legs were, just to complete the matter with a Monty Python reference.
What was the question?
But back to the subject: note in the shot below from "Bride Of Frankenstein" what an incredible hottie Elsa Lanchester was!! She's playing Mary Shelley in the opening scene, long before she entered the picture as the Bride. Flanking her are the actors who played Percy Shelley and Lord Byron, obviously watching each other.
Thoughtfully, I've neglected to include a shot of her husband, Charles Laughton, a great actor but a personage who fails to turn me on.
Darn. Graphic reference failure. So try manual method ---
